CONTEXT

The original “Resource” page mixed videos, slides and text into one dense page.

There were no cues confirming to users that they had arrived at the right place - only dense text and inconsistent labelling.
Testing revealed users struggled to find materials and described the experience as “too much scrolling.”

Through research,  users thought in formats (videos vs slides) rather than topics - so the redesign focused on reorganising, renaming and simplifying.

RESEARCH INSIGHT

Through open card sorting, participants grouped resources primarily by format (“videos” vs “slides”),  rather than by topic.
83% expected this separation reflected in the navigation.
Follow-up usability tests confirmed that this structure reduced task completion time and increased content recall.

DESIGN RATIONAL

Based on these insights, I made 2 key changes:

1)Added a Welcome Paragraph
A short, inclusive intro confirms that users are in the right section and sets expectations about what they’ll find (videos and slides).
This small addition addresses cognitive load by giving context before action — proven by NN/g to improve findability and confidence.

2)Split Content by Format + Dropdown Navigation
- Introduced separate “Videos” and “Slides” subpages with a clear dropdown under “Resources.”

- Simplifies scanning and supports mobile navigation without overloading the main menu.

BEFORE & AFTER

RESULTS & IMPACT

The addition of a short welcome paragraph , just two lines - made the page feel “human” and “purposeful,” particularly for new visitors.
Users and stakeholders described it as “friendly, accessible and aligned with PSA’s inclusive mission.”

REFLECTION

This redesign reinforced how micro IA changes: paragraph &  navigation tweak - can transform clarity and trust.
In inclusive design, reassurance is not an afterthought; it’s part of accessibility.
